This Christmas, ATAC is offering a range of services to make travelling around Rome easier and more convenient for both locals and tourists. The Christmas Mobility Plan includes several initiatives designed to improve accessibility and support holiday travel throughout the holiday season.

Key Highlights:

• Three Free Bus Lines:
  To help tourists and locals enjoy Rome's main attractions, ATAC will operate three free bus lines connecting popular areas in the city. Every day, until 6 January 2026, two free shuttle bus lines, named Free 1 and Free 2, will connect the two railway stations Ostiense and Termini with the city center from 09:00 until 21:00. The electric bus line 100, running from Porta Pinciana to Piazza Cavour, will be for free as well.
  

• 27 Enhanced Connections:
  Many bus and tram routes will be strengthened, ensuring a more frequent service, especially in high-traffic areas. This is ideal for visitors planning to explore the city’s sights, with easier access to both iconic landmarks and hidden gems.
  

• €10 Special Travel Pass:
  ATAC is offering a €10 special travel pass that will grant unlimited travel on buses, trams and the metro and park for free in the main park-and-ride car parks on 17 selected days: all Saturdays and public holidays, plus two pre-holiday days 31 Dec and 5 Jan), between 6 December 2025 and 6 January 2026. This initiative is designed to make exploring the Eternal City more efficient and enjoyable during the busy holiday season, ensuring that tourists can easily reach their destinations and experience the magic of Rome without hassle.

HOLIDAY TIMETABLE

22 AND 23 DECEMBER

Regular weekday service and enhanced service on bus lines 23, 32, 40, 49, 62, 64, 70, 83, 85, 87, 105, 118, 246, 492, 495, 792 and 916

24 DECEMBER

Last ride on the entire network at 21:00.

The night service begins at 23:30, following the schedules of each line, in line with the timings of a regular weekday.

The buses operated by Autoservizi Troiani, Autoservizi Tuscia, and Atr follow the same schedules as the ATAC network.

25 DECEMBER

Service on the entire network is active from 08:30 to 13:00 and from 16:30 to 21:00.

The Termini-Centocelle regional railway will operate until 13:00, and in the afternoon, passengers can use bus line 105.

The buses operated by Autoservizi Troiani, Autoservizi Tuscia, and Atr follow the same schedules as the ATAC network.

26 DECEMBER

Holiday Timetable Across the Entire Network with Enhanced Metro Service

The last metro ride will be at 01:30. The night service follows the weekend timetable, with increased frequency.

We are strengthening bus lines 23, 32, 40, 49, 62, 64, 70, 83, 85, 87, 105, 118, 246, 492, 495, 792, and 916.

The buses operated by Autoservizi Troiani, Autoservizi Tuscia, and Atr follow the same schedules as the ATAC network.

27 DECEMBER

We are enhancing 24 bus lines: 23, 32, 40, 49, 53, 62, 64, 70, 74, 80, 83, 85, 87, 105, 118, 160, 170, 246, 301, 492, 495, 781, 792, and 916.

The metro network will have extended hours, with the last rides departing at 01:30.

28 DECEMBER

Normal holiday timetable across the entire network.

We are strengthening 27 bus lines: 23, 32, 38, 40, 44, 49, 53, 60, 62, 64, 70, 74, 80, 83, 85, 87, 105, 118, 160, 170, 246, 301, 492, 495, 781, 792, and 916.

29 AND 30 DECEMBER

Regular weekday timetable across the entire network.

We are strengthening 17 bus lines: 23, 32, 40, 49, 62, 64, 70, 83, 85, 87, 105, 118, 246, 492, 495, 792, and 916.

31 DECEMBER

METRO NETWORK

The last metro ride from the terminals will be at 02:30. Then, until 08:00, the following night lines will operate on the same routes:

From 02:30 to 08:00, we will also be providing extra service on line NME (Piazza Venezia - Lido Centro Station), which follows the MetroMare route between Piramide and Lido Centro.

BUS NETWORK

We will provide extra service until 02:30 on twelve bus lines (line 2 will be operating with buses instead of trams), connecting neighbourhoods with the city centre and the metro network:

For the rest of the network, including services managed by Autoservizi Troiani, Autoservizi Tuscia, and Atr, the last rides from the terminals will be at 21:00.

1 JANUARY 2025

Service across the entire network begins at 08:00 and continues according to the holiday timetable.

The buses operated by Autoservizi Troiani, Autoservizi Tuscia, and Atr follow the same schedules as the ATAC network.

2 JANUARY 2025

Regular weekday timetable across the entire network.

The metro network follows the normal Friday timetable, with the last rides departing at 01:30.

The night service follows the enhanced weekend timetable.

We are strengthening 17 bus lines: 23, 32, 40, 49, 62, 64, 70, 83, 85, 87, 105, 118, 246, 492, 495, 792, and 916.

3 JANUARY 2025

and providing 32 additional trips on metro lines A and B.
