To support the opening of the new San Giovanni-Porta Metronia-Colosseo section of Metro Line C and the future interchange with Metro Line B, service adjustments are in place.

The works, coordinated by Roma Metropolitane on behalf of Roma Capitale, will require partial or full closures of the line on selected days.

Here’s the updated service plan valid through 13 October:

Replacement Bus Services

MC bus line (San Giovanni – Pantano)

• Express service between San Giovanni and Pantano.
• Stops near all Metro C stations except: Malatesta, Teano, Gardenie, Mirti.
• Uses Via Casilina between Pigneto and Centocelle to speed up travel.
• Includes an extra stop at Via Casilina/Via di Torpignattara for connection to bus line 409, which links Tiburtina station with Metro Line A (Arco di Travertino) and other major transit lines (FL, Metro A/B/C, Termini-Centocelle).

MC3 bus line (San Giovanni – Centocelle)

• Local service covering the stations not served by Line MC: Malatesta, Teano, Gardenie, Mirti.
• Designed to ensure full coverage, especially for stations that are closer to the city center.
  

Why These Changes?

The changes are necessary to carry out system-wide testing and integration of the new extension to Colosseo, including parts of the existing line. These technical activities are incompatible with train circulation and, therefore, require night-time or full-day closures on selected dates.
