Passengers found travelling without a valid ticket or with an irregular ticket will be issued with a penalty fare from 100 to 500 euros, in addition to the payment of the ticket price as well as procedural and postal costs, if applicable.

The penalty is reduced by 50 % if paid within 5 days after notification.

You are considered travelling without a valid ticket when:

  • although having a ticket, you did not validate it correctly;
  • you show a ticket that has been validated more than once in a Metro line;
  • you are found with a ticket or travel pass that is visibly counterfeit;
  • you are using your ticket or pass beyond its validity period;
  • you are using your ordinary ticket or travel pass on special connections, that  require a specific ticket;
  • you are using  a ticket or travel pass with a lower price or distance coverage than needed;
  • you display a personal pass without having filled in your data or without an ID card.

Log on to the portal and enter your personal data, number of violation report, notification date and identification number of the inspector who issued the penalty.

Once done, you may choose between different payment methods (credit card or Unicredit bank account) and go on with the transaction.

On completion, the system will generate a printable page containing all payment details.

The service can also be used for the payment of injunction orders issued if you didn’t pay the penalty fare in time. In this case, in addition to your personal data, you will also have to enter the violation report number (VAV), and not the number of the injunction order.
