How to validate your Pass to travel on public transport in Rome

If you have purchased the integrated service kit provided by the Dicastery, which includes a valid public transport pass, you’ll find here all the information you need to use your Pass correctly on the metro, buses, and trams within the territory of Rome during the Youth Jubilee days.

HOW TO USE YOUR PASS

Your Pass includes a public transport ticket - either the Roma 72-Hour ticket or the CIS (Integrated Weekly Card) - valid for 72 hours or 7 days, depending on the option you selected.

YOUR TRAVEL TICKET DEPENDS ON THE COLOR OF YOUR PASS:

Red, Orange, Yellow and Neon Green Passes are preloaded with a CIS ticket, valid for unlimited travel for 7 days;
Blue and Light Blue Passes are preloaded with a Roma 72-Hour Ticket, valid for unlimited travel for 72 hours.

Important: Green Passes do not include a travel ticket and are not valid for public transport.

Scan the QR Code on your Pass for quick and easy access to public transportation:

On the Metro: Simply hold the QR Code near the designated turnstiles, clearly marked with the Youth Jubilee graphics;
On buses and trams: Validate your Pass by holding the QR Code close to the lower section of the Tap&Go validators, where the “QRCode” symbol is displayed.

Once correctly validated, your ticket gives you unlimited access to local public transport within the territory of Rome for the number of days included in your chosen pass - as long as it’s used between 27 July and 11:59 p.m. on 4 August 2025.

Usage Period for travel tickets included in the Pass

The travel tickets associated with the Pass may be used exclusively between 27 July and 4 August 2025, under the following conditions:
- Roma 72-Hour Ticket
  - Earliest validation: From 00:00 on 1 August 2025
  - Final day of use: Until 11:59 p.m. on 4 August 2025
  - Validity: Up to 72 consecutive hours from first validation, and in any case no later than 11:59 p.m. on 4 August 2025
- CIS - Integrated Weekly Card
  - Earliest validation: From 00:00 on 27 July 2025
  - Final day of use: Until 11:59 p.m. on 4 August 2025
  - Validity: Up to 7 consecutive days from first validation, and in any case no later than 11:59 p.m. on 4 August 2025
In the event of a ticket inspection by Atac staff, you are required to:
- Show your Pass, with the name filled in at the time of activation.
- Present a valid ID, if requested.
