Atac manages all kinds of collective mobility within the metropolitan area of Roma Capitale: surface vehicles, metro lines and railways, up to the administration of park & ride areas and on-street metered parking spaces.
From the historical centre to the outskirts, Atac’s network covers a territory of about 2,200 km : 20 operational sites among maintenance workshops and vehicle depots, over 8,500 bus, tram and metro-rail stops, 320 surface terminuses, 70,000 parking stalls - integrated into a historical framework built over thousands of years - merge into a complex industrial and citizen service system.
Atac’s resources consist of 11,024 employees (1,341 women, 9,683 men). Every day more than half of them, though with different professional roles, interact with customers aiming at a public transport service whose main drivers are quality and safety.
The relationship with the territory, which over the years has become synonymous with collective identity, is carried out by front-end personnel (drivers, supervisors, station agents, ticket clerks and inspectors) and back-end personnel (administrative staff, workmen, train drivers) - all working together towards the same goals, such as customer satisfaction, service improvement, cost containment, health and safety of workers.
