Modernisation of the tramway network - service changes

Temporary tram service changes affecting lines 3 and 8

 

Due to redevelopment works along Viale del Parco del Celio and tree maintenance on Circonvallazione Gianicolense and along Via Marmorata-Via Labicana, tram services will be modified until Tuesday 17 February, with further changes scheduled on selected dates later in the month. 

SERVICE DETAILS

TRAM LINE 3

From Saturday 14 to Tuesday 17 February

For the entire day, trams will be replaced by buses between Trastevere Station and Porta Maggiore. Regular tram services will operate between Porta Maggiore and Valle Giulia.

Replacement buses will stop at tram stops, with the following exceptions:

  • At Porta Maggiore, buses terminate in the centre of the square
  • In both directions, instead of Viale del Parco del Celio, buses run via Via Celio Vibenna and Via di San Gregorio
  • Towards Trastevere, buses use the side lanes between Piazza di Porta Capena and Piazza Albania (same route as bus line 75)
  • Towards Trastevere, buses run in the side lane of Viale Trastevere from Piazza Bernardino da Feltre (as bus line H)

TRAM LINE 8

On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February and on Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March

For the entire day, trams will be replaced by buses between Trastevere Station and Casaletto. Regular tram services will operate between Trastevere Station and Piazza Venezia.

At Trastevere Station, trams will arrive and depart from Piazza Flavio Biondo, opposite the station.

Replacement buses will operate as follows:

  • Trastevere Station: Piazza Flavio Biondo, ATAC terminus opposite the station.
  • Circonvallazione Gianicolense: side lane in both directions, following the route of night bus line n8.
  • Casaletto: side lane, following the route of bus line 088.

Passengers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to check for further updates before travelling.
