Good Friday Way of the Cross at the Colosseum on 3 April - Colosseo Metro Station Closed and Bus Services Diverted

On Friday 3 April, transport services around the Colosseum will be modified from 1:00 p.m. to approximately 11:30 p.m. due to the Solemn Way of the Cross presided over by Pope Leo XIV

On Friday 3 April, from 9:00 p.m. to approximately 11:30 p.m., the Solemn Way of the Cross will take place at the Colosseum in the presence of Pope Leo XIV.

To ensure the safe management of the event, traffic restrictions will be in place from 1:00 p.m. until approximately 11:30 p.m. The affected roads include Via dei Fori Imperiali (between Piazza del Colosseo and Piazza Madonna di Loreto), Via Cavour (between Largo Venosta and Largo Corrado Ricci), Via degli Annibaldi, Via Nicola Salvi, Via Celio Vibenna and Via di San Gregorio.

Public transport services will also be modified during the same time period.

Metro services

From 1:00 p.m., Colosseo station on Metro line B and Metro line C will be closed.
Passengers travelling between Metro line B and Metro line C are advised to use Metro line A via Termini (interchange with Metro line B) and San Giovanni (interchange with Metro line C).

Bus services

From 1:00 p.m., bus lines 3, 51, 75, 81, 85, 87, 117 and 118 will be diverted.

Bus line 3 will operate via alternative roads between Piazza Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, Porta San Giovanni and Porta Capena in both directions.

Bus line 51 will be diverted between Porta San Giovanni and Piazza Venezia via Porta Capena, Circo Massimo and Teatro Marcello.

Bus line 75 will be diverted between Via Merulana and Piazza Albania via Porta Capena.

Bus line 81 will be diverted between Porta Capena and Porta Metronia via Viale delle Terme di Caracalla.

Bus lines 85 and 87 will follow a diversion between Porta San Giovanni and Piazza Venezia via Circo Massimo and Teatro Marcello.

Bus line 117 will operate on a diversion from Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano before resuming its regular route.

Bus line 118 will run in both directions between Piazza di Porta Capena and Piazza Venezia via Circo Massimo, Via Luigi Petroselli and Via del Teatro Marcello.
