Modernisation of the Tramway Network - Service Changes during October 2026: Line 8 fully restored

Oct 21, 2026, 11:24 by Redazione
Line 3 has been restored between Porta Maggiore and Trastevere Station, while Line 8 has been fully restored. Lines 3, 5 and 14 partially restored. Lines 2 and 19 still replaced by buses

Ahead of the introduction of the new CAF Urbos trams, which will replace the historic 1940s vehicles and operate on the new tram lines currently under construction, we are upgrading the Nomentana electrical substation, which has supplied power to Rome’s tram network for many years.

The works are also allowing us to continue renewing tram tracks across the historic network and to start construction of the new tram terminus in Viale delle Milizie. The new terminus will help bring tram services back to the Prati area while allowing the works on Line C of the metro between Colosseo and Farnesina to continue.

Here are all the details of the affected routes, timings, and replacement stops.
