Frequently Asked Questions

In Rome, parking in blue stripe spaces can be paid also using the phone credit of your prepaid or postpaid SIM card. The service is currently offered by three mobile phone operators: TIM, WINDTRE and Vodafone.

IF YOUR PHONE OPERATOR IS 

Just send an SMS to the number 48018 indicating the license plate of your vehicle and the zone in which you are parking, separated by a space (e.g. for Zone 1: AA123BB Z1). You will receive the already active parking ticket via SMS. 

Or you can use the TIMpersonal App, which will pre-fill the SMS directly from your smartphone, following these simple instructions:

• download the TIMpersonal App, available on Android and IoS stores
• select the section “Sosta e ZTL” (Parking and LTZ)
• search for the city of Rome
• select the zone
• write the license plate of your vehicle (you can memorize and/or modify it)
• purchase the parking ticket
• view the purchase summary
• receive the already active parking ticket via SMS

29 cents will be added for requesting the service.

The parking ticket purchased will be valid for 1 hour for all hourly rate zones. For zones with reduced rates, the ticket will be valid for the specific time related to the selected zone. 10 minutes before expiry you will receive an alert SMS suggesting you to send a further request to extend your parking time.

To pay for your single parking ticket with phone credit (WindTre and Vodafone) you can also use the DropTicket application:

• Open the App and activate the localization or type “ROMA” in the search field at the top;
• select the option “Biglietto Sosta Singola 1h” and the parking zone you are in: in this way the applied rate will be calculated automatically;
• select "Credito telefonico" as payment method;
• write the license plate of your vehicle and "invia sms": DropTicket will pre-fill an SMS directly from your smartphone that you will need to send.

The cost of the hourly rate of the selected zone will be added to the cost of the text message sent, which depends on your tariff plan.

Parking packages can be used in all other cities where DropTicket is operating. In this way, purchasing only one Parking package, you will be able to use it for transfers or  trips out of town without having to buy another parking  ticket.
