For individuals who are not self-employed professionals and do not hold a VAT number, the travel ticket or pass serves as a valid tax document.

To claim the 19% personal income tax (IRPEF) deduction in your tax return, simply provide your Metrebus Card and a copy of the receipt issued when purchasing the pass, provided that payment was made using a traceable payment method, at one of our ticket offices or authorised retailers (tobacconists, newsagents, etc.).

The tax deduction is available provided that the expense is paid using a traceable payment method, such as a debit or credit card. You should keep the relevant proof of payment.

If the receipt is lost or damaged, you can request a duplicate:

If the pass is still valid:

  • at one of the ATAC ticket offices located in Metro A and B/B1 stations, except Spagna;
  • at the new self-service ticket machines in Rome's metro stations;
  • if the pass was purchased online, directly through MyAtac.

If the pass has expired:

  • through Atac Risponde, stating in your message the card number, the cardholder's date of birth and the validity period, i.e. the month(s) or year for which proof of payment is required.

To prevent the information printed on the POS thermal receipt from becoming difficult to read over time, we recommend always making a copy of the receipt and other relevant documents.
