Frequently Asked Questions

For surface transport and metro lines, specific insurance policies have been taken out for the risks of civil liability for damage that may occur to people, things (jewellery and other valuables excluded) or animals during the journey.

Maximum payouts

• Third party liability insurance for buses and trolleybuses: € 32,000,000.00
• Third party liability insurance for trams: € 30,000,000.00
• Third party liability insurance for Metro lines A-B/B1-C: € 70,000,000.00

How to claim compensation for damages:

For any claims for damages ascribable to accidents affecting surface lines and Metro lines managed by Atac S.p.A., please forward the documentation relating to the claimed accident to the certified e-mail address: protocollo@cert2.atac.roma.it

ATAC will verify the claim and forward the request to the insurance company Le Assicurazioni di Roma.

Documentation:

To make the preliminary investigation for damages easier and faster, the complaints should be accompanied by the following information and documents:

• date and time of the accident;
• ticket (in the event of accidents on board of vehicles): properly validated ticket, or - in case of a season or weekly pass - the original pass if its validity expired at the time of the accident report, otherwise a photocopy of the same;
• ATAC vehicle license plate and/or vehicle identification number;
• number of the line;
• possibly name and surname of the driver and/or badge number;
• any report from the Municipal Police containing all the information that allows to identify the vehicle, the line and the driver;
• any hospital Emergency Room report.
